Live Graphic Recording
& Visual Storytelling
Not Just Notes —
An Experience Your Guests Will Remember
Most people think of graphic recording as someone quietly sketching in the back of the room. But that’s not what I do.
I combine live illustration, visual storytelling, and interactive speaking to turn meetings, retreats, and corporate events into experiences people actually enjoy - and remember.
How It Works
-
Before the event: I review your talk, agenda, or key themes and design visuals that highlight your message. Then I craft a custom presentation just for your event — blending my background as an educator with my love for teaching, storytelling, and live drawing.
-
During the event: I draw live while I speak — or as someone else speaks — weaving in humor, history, true stories, and interaction. Your audience doesn’t just see information… they experience it.
-
After the event: You walk away with a set of visual notes and illustrations that can be shared, repurposed, or displayed.

Why Stories + Images Work
Research Proves it: Stories Stick
-
Research shows that stories are remembered up to 22 times more than facts alone (Stanford Graduate School of Business). And when you add visuals, recall skyrockets even higher.
-
That’s because of the Picture-Superiority Effect — people remember images far better than words, since visuals are encoded in the brain twice: once as an image and once as a verbal label.
-
Put stories and images together, and you don’t just get attention — you create lasting memories, deeper emotional connections, and messages people carry with them long after the event.

✨ Where Graphic Recording & Storytelling Shine
-
Corporate retreats & team-building experiences – energize your event with creative activities that connect and inspire.
-
Seminars, keynote speeches & conferences – transform presentations into engaging visual storytelling guests actually remember.
-
Executive & leadership retreats – capture insights and strategies in real time, turning complex discussions into clear takeaways.
-
Women’s motivational events & conferences – amplify messages from inspirational speakers with bold, memorable visuals.
-
VIP events & interactive workshops – keep high-level gatherings dynamic, engaging, and shareable.
-
Churches, youth programs & ministry events – use live art and storytelling to uplift, encourage, and inspire faith communities.
-
Quarterly meetings & strategic planning sessions – turn reports into dynamic visual storyboards that cut through the boredom.

I don’t just draw at events — I also love teaching and speaking about art, storytelling, and creativity. Over the years I’ve worked with:
-
Schools & Homeschool Groups – career day talks, hands-on art classes, and workshops that inspire kids to see art as a real profession.
-
Libraries – Drawing 101 classes, comic art workshops, and special events (like at Daphne Public Library) that mix fun and skill-building.
-
Youth & Church Groups – motivational talks, live drawing, and storytelling sessions that encourage creativity as a gift from God.
-
Women’s Groups & Chambers of Commerce – inspirational talks on creativity, entrepreneurship, and pursuing a life in the arts.
-
Podcasts & Community Events – sharing my journey as an artist and showing how everything you see was designed by someone — proof that art matters everywhere.
-
Private Parties & Gatherings – custom storytelling or creative workshops that bring people together in a unique way.

👉 Whether it’s a homeschool class on comics, a library drawing session, or a motivational talk for women and youth, my goal is the same: to spark joy, confidence, and creativity in every audience.
Educational Talks & Creative Workshops
Why Work With Me?

-
For over a decade, I worked in Las Vegas — drawing for Fortune 500 companies at some of the biggest corporate events in the world. From Samsung to Cirque du Soleil, I’ve entertained at the crème de la crème of conferences, trade shows, and VIP gatherings.
-
I know how to behave in professional settings because I’ve been on both sides of the table. Before returning full-time to art, I was a CEO myself. That means when you hire me, you’re not getting a busker off the street — you’re getting a seasoned professional who understands corporate culture, deadlines, and client expectations.
-
Add to that a lifetime of storytelling, teaching, and drawing hundreds of thousands of people, and you’ve got more than an artist — you’ve got a partner who knows how to engage your audience, respect your brand, and deliver results.

Real Stories
“From History to the Big Stage”
Whether I’m sharing the history of caricature at Fort Mims, helping schoolchildren connect art and storytelling at the Historic New Orleans Collection, teaching Drawing 101 at a homeschool co-op, or guiding teens at the Daphne Public Library, my mission is the same: to inspire, encourage, and spread joy through art.
The same passion that fuels my community classes also carries into my larger events — from weddings and conferences to Fortune 500 activations like Samsung at CES. No matter the size of the stage, I bring the same heart: combining art, history, and live interaction to create experiences people never forget.
“Bringing Art History to Life at the Historic New Orleans Collection”

💡 Did you know? The word grotesque comes from the ruins of Nero’s palace, the Domus Aurea, buried for centuries in Rome. Renaissance artists like Raphael (who was reportedly lowered into the ruins by rope!) studied the strange figures on its walls. These grotesques fascinated Leonardo da Vinci and influenced his sketchbooks — planting seeds that helped inspire the spirit of the Renaissance and the art of caricature
-
In 2024, I had the honor of working with the Historic New Orleans Collection for their exhibit Unknown Sitters. The paintings in the exhibit featured people whose identities had been lost to history, and local schoolchildren were asked to imagine their stories. The most creative entries were celebrated at a special reception — and that’s where I came in.
-
I drew caricatures of all the winning students (and even a few adults), giving them a keepsake to go along with their achievement. It was my first-ever museum event, and I was so proud to see how art, storytelling, and history came together that day.
-
This experience showed me how live art can enrich museum programs, gallery openings, and cultural events by sparking creativity, connecting people, and making the moment unforgettable.

🏰 Historic Reenactments &
Living History Events
-
For the past two years, I’ve been part of the Fort Mims Reenactment, a powerful living history event here in Alabama. While guests came to step back in time, I added a unique twist: live caricatures paired with the history of caricature itself.
-
As I drew attendees, I shared stories about how caricature dates back to the Roman era and later influenced Renaissance artists like Leonardo da Vinci. People were fascinated to learn that this art form has always been about more than humor — it’s a way of capturing expression, sparking conversation, and telling stories across centuries.
-
The response was incredible. Guests walked away not only with a keepsake sketch, but also with a deeper appreciation for caricature as part of art history, cultural heritage, and storytelling. For me, it was proof that live art can enrich historic reenactments and community heritage events just as much as weddings, conferences, or museums.

Homeschool Art &
Mentoring the Next Generation
-
For the past five years, my family has been part of the Explorers Homeschool Co-op in Milton, FL. Every two weeks we drive over an hour each way to be with this amazing group of families. For three years, I taught K-2 art classes, but my dream was to work with the teens. Last year, I finally had the chance — I taught Drawing 101.
-
The response blew me away. Three students told me they now want to be artists — including my own son, Dan. Watching that spark light up in young people is the greatest reward an art teacher could ask for.

-
At the Daphne Public Library, I’ve had the privilege of leading teen art classes that go beyond simple crafts. Instead of glue sticks and glitter, I focus on real art skills — things like character design, color theory, and drawing techniques that I wish I’d been taught when I was younger.
-
These classes give local teens the chance to grow as artists, explore their creativity, and see art as more than a hobby — as a real skill and even a possible profession. Watching their confidence grow with every class is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

It’s not just teens who have been encouraged. Last year, I took on an apprentice named Tae to help me handle the overflow of caricature customers. She had trained as a nurse but longed to be an artist, even though she didn’t believe in herself. I began teaching her how to draw caricatures. Just last month, she told me she’s going back to school to become an art teacher. I cant tell you how overjoyed I am for her. I'm so proud of you, Tae!

👉 Whether I’m teaching a homeschool class on comics, leading a library art workshop, inspiring women and youth through motivational talks, or creating with students at the Historic New Orleans Collection, my mission never changes: to inspire, encourage, and spread joy through art and storytelling.
