Finding the right birthday entertainment for a child with special needs can feel overwhelming. You want them to feel included, celebrated, and surrounded by joy—not stressed or left out. That’s exactly why I offer special needs birthday party caricatures.
Why I Understand This So Well
I’m not just an entertainer—I’m also a mom. I have three special-needs kids myself:

One with Down syndrome

One with ADHD
-
One who is gifted and has OCD (yes—gifted is also a special need)
I also homeschool all my children, and before that my daughter was in special-needs programs all the way through high school. I built friendships with her teachers, many of whom are still my friends today. They encouraged me when I was scared to start homeschooling, and they showed me that it could be not only possible—but joyful.
On top of that, I have two nephews with autism (one with brain damage), so I’m very familiar with the wide range of challenges and strengths in the special-needs community.

Parents of kids with special needs know how painful social isolation can be. Every child deserves to feel like they belong and to celebrate milestones surrounded by love, fun, and friends.

I also once led a birthday party for a teenager with autism—he invited five friends (all autistic too). First, I gave them a fun mini-lesson on how to draw faces, then I created caricatures for each one. The mom was thrilled, and the kids lit up with pride.

A Personal Note
I believe God made our kids exactly how they are on purpose. Their perseverance—the same “stubbornness” people sometimes talk about—isn’t a flaw. It’s what helps them navigate a world that isn’t always designed for them.
I’ve even written a children’s book with my daughter (who has Down syndrome) as the protagonist—because kids with special needs deserve to be the heroes of their own stories.

A Personal Project Close to My Heart
I’m currently finishing a children’s book I wrote for my daughter, who has Down syndrome.
Unlike many “special needs books” that feel like sermons, this story makes the child with special needs the true hero. My daughter’s superpower is hugs and perseverance—qualities that help her overcome challenges with love and strength.
Once it’s fully colored, I’ll be sending it to a publisher.
