Why Most Corporate Events Turn Into a Snoozefest

a corporate event snoozefest

Snoozapalooza at a corporate event near you

You’ve got the venue. The food. The drinks.
Everything looks good on paper.

But something’s missing.

employees looking bored sitting in a row at a corproate event with party hats on

It's the Same old conversations. Same old giveaways. Same old polite smiles.

There’s nothing pulling people in. Nothing Different. Nothing that’s actually FUN.

So everyone pulls out their phones…
Checks their watches,
And counts down the minutes.

zombies on phones

But it doesn't have to be that way....

Interactive Corporate Event Entertainment
That Actually Engages Your Guests

Instead, Imagine your VIP's, Clients and Emplyees Laughing, Engaging and having the time of their lives!

This isnt just wishful thinking. It's what really happens with my live caricatures for corporate events.

With my caricatures, your guests become the entertainment.

This isn’t background entertainment people walk past. This is interactive corporate event entertainment that pulls people in.

Guests stop. Watch. Laugh.
Then they want in.

Even your competitors will all want one.

My flattering caricatures break the ice instantly.
They get people talking, and turns your event into something people actually experience—not just attend.

And here’s the part most people don’t expect:

It doesn’t just entertain your guests…
It doubles as unique branded swag they take with them.

I can always tell a good complany because they reward their employees with caricatures!

Each drawing is created live at your event and can even include your company branding.

So instead of handing out another pen, tshirt or koozie…

(seriously, who needs another koozie?)

You’re giving your guests something fun, personal, and worth keeping.

Crowd Magnet > Snoozapalooza

You’ve seen it before.

A big convention center. Booths lined up.
People walking by… glancing… and keep moving.

Another booth.
Another setup.
Nothing pulling people in.

Caricatures are a Whole Other Story

I set up.

People are watching.

Soon someone sits down to get drawn.

Now a Crowd gathers.

They're Laughing.

Engaging.

Then someone else joins them.

As people start seeing the drawings, word gets around.

“Wait—you have to go over there.”

Coworkers laugh. Strangers connect.

Even people from other booths wander over to see what’s going on.

(It happens every time.)

And just like that… caricatures draw a crowd.

It’s not something you have to explain.
You can see it for yourself.

That’s what interactive caricature entertainment does.

It gives people a reason to stop.
A reason to engage.

A reason to remember your event—and you—long after it’s over.

Q: What's the ONE THING that can actually set your company apart that no one else can match?

A: LAUGHTER.

It echoes throughout the halls and acts like a traffic magnet.

Soon your booth will be the center of attention. And it really isn’t about ME. It’s about the MEDIUM. Any world-class caricaturist can do it (if you can find one).

What others CAN’T do, however, is what sets me apart.

kathy buskett the corporate caricaturist holds a samsung galaxy note with her caricature logo drawn on it

Hi, I’m Kathy Buskett. I’ve been drawing caricatures for 27 years—which is a lifetime in itself. I can hardly believe it. But when I look back at all the thousands of events I’ve drawn at, I feel incredibly blessed to be able to do what I love for a living… and that is to make people happy.

Kathy Buskett drawing digital caricatures for Samsung at CES in Las Vegas.  Serving the Gulf Coast and beyond — including Mobile, Fairhope, Daphne, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Pensacola, Destin, Biloxi, and New Orleans — and available for travel nationwide.

My 27 years of experience definitely sets me apart from the crowd of neophytes, but there are several other things that do as well:

  • Staggering Speed. I’m one of the fastest caricaturists in the world, drawing 20–30 faces per hour. This keeps lines down and guests interested.

  • A Flattering Style that makes people want to keep their drawings—with your branding on them.

  • Interpersonal skills. I have worked with every type of person you can think of, and I can draw them all. I will be kind to your guests and make your brand look GREAT—no embarrassing faux pas, rude comments, or inappropriate behavior.

I learned to entertain in Las Vegas at some of the largest events in the world, under the tutelage of Buddy Rose, the “godfather of caricature.” I actually put on a little show with each guest who sits, unlike other artists who are often passive—or worse, monotone.

I love my job so much that I have multiple reviews saying I smile the whole time I’m drawing. And I have pictures - and stories - to prove it.

Buddy Rose, The "Godfather of Caricature",

aka four feet of fury

The first time I worked at the caricature stand on Fremont Street in Las Vegas, I was terrified. Fremont Street is not exactly the place you ease into things gently.

If you’ve never been there, it’s five blocks of old downtown Las Vegas turned into a pedestrian entertainment district — casinos, bars, free concerts. street performers, and huge crowds of tourists from all over the world, under a massive video canopy that erupts into music and lights every hour at night. Buddy used to call the crowds "The Great Unwashed," and in the Vegas heat, he wasn't wrong.

And I was supposed to work there on the street until 2am.

My boss Buddy kept telling me everything would be fine.

“Just remember,” he said, “don’t turn your back to the crowd where

someone could jump you.”

This was not especially reassuring.

Buddy was a not a tall guy — we used to jokingly call him "four feet of fury."  But he strutted around like a little Banty Rooster and could talk to anyone.

Seeing that I was frozen, he said, “All right, I’ll get your first customer.”

He walked straight up to a very tall man who was teetering slightly. Fremont Street allows open containers of alcohol, and this guy had clearly taken full advantage of that policy. The contrast between them was… impressive.

“Want to get your caricature drawn?” Buddy asked.

The man squinted at him. “Wha?”

“You know,” Buddy said, “a funny cartoon sketch of you.”

Somehow Buddy convinced him, and the man sat down in my chair.

He was so drunk he nearly fell out of it while I was drawing him.

I drew him quickly, just wanting to get this one over with. It did look just like him - only funnier. He was also clearly drunk in the drawing. I always tell people - I just draw what I see.

When I finished, I turned the drawing around.

He looked at it.

He looked at Buddy.

He looked at me.

Then he stood up and said, “I’m not paying for that.”

My eyeballs nearly popped out of my head.

No one talked to Buddy Rose that way. He was the godfather of caricature, founder of the National Caricaturist Network and one of the most respected caricaturists in the world.

But this guy didn’t know that.

Buddy stepped forward. “Yes,” he said, his voice like flint. “You are.”

I was staring, mouth open.

The man grinned sloppily at him, patted him gently on the head, and slurred:

“You’re a funny little man.”

Buddy turned about nine shades of pink, purple, and magenta. He clenched his fists in rage and —

Have you ever seen a cartoon where someone gets so mad steam comes off their head?  Well…

The drunk guy took one look at Buddy, did a double take, and suddenly realized what he’d done.

He sobered up instantly…

…and took off running through the crowd.

Buddy chased him down like a rabid Chihuahua chasing a Rottweiler off his front lawn.

And that was my introduction to Fremont Street — and to performing as a

live caricature artist in Las Vegas.

And I’ve loved drawing a crowd ever since.

Vegas is where I learned something important.

Caricatures aren’t just drawings.

They’re live entertainment that DRAWS a crowd - Literally.

On Fremont Street, crowds gather every few minutes.

A guest would sit down. I'd start drawing. People gathered over my shoulder. And when I turned the picture around…

Everyone laughed.

It was a tiny performance that repeated all night long.

Today I bring that same live caricature entertainment to weddings, corporate events, and private parties across the Gulf Coast and beyond.

Save Time

You want someone who can handle a crowd.

Nothing is worse than hiring a caricaturist only to find they can only draw a few faces per hour.

As one of the Fastest Caricaturists

IN THE WORLD,

I can draw up to 30 faces per hour,

so more of your guests will get drawn.

My high speed keeps lines down which also keeps you & your guests happy, and it

saves you TIME.

Caricatures function as both a Swag AND Entertainment. You likely already have a budget for Swag. You can afford Entertainment when you double up with Caricatures!

And because my speeds are so high, you won't have to hire me for as long. I often take the place of hiring an extra artist.

Save Expense

A Product Launch Event That Put the Galaxy Note on the Map

  • If you want people to stop, pay attention, and remember your product, you need more than a display—you need an experience.

I actually managed the product launch for the Galaxy Note with Samsung at CES, along with my Late Husband, Buddy Rose.

Yes… I’ve been doing this that long. Longer, actually.

It was one of the largest digital caricature events in the world—if not the largest.

We weren’t just drawing Digtial Caricatures — we were creating branded, shareable moments at scale. Crowds gathered. People stayed. And they left with something tied directly to the product.

That’s the difference.

At a product launch, you don’t just want traffic…
you want attention, engagement, and something people remember after they walk away.

And that launch helped position the Galaxy Note as Samsung’s flagship product for the next 12 years.

Employee Appreciation Events
(This One Deserves Its Own Spotlight)

Every year, the Perdido Beach Resort has me come out for an appreciation event. Not for their guests—for their staff.

They’re a luxury hotel here on the Gulf Coast, and they understand something a lot of companies miss…
If you want your guests treated well, you have to treat your staff well first.

So every year, they bring me in for Employee Appreciation Day, and we turn it into something fun.

People come in on their breaks, grab food, laugh, and get drawn. It’s relaxed, it’s easy, and it works with their schedule since staff can come and go.

And here’s my favorite part—
a lot of them have told me they’ve started a collection.

They come back every year and add a new drawing.

They actually look forward to it.

Because I draw fast, I can usually get everyone who wants one done within that 3–4 hour window with a rotating staff.

And for the hotel staff?
It’s easy.

No complicated setup. No extra vendors. No overplanning. They point me to a spot, give me three chairs… and I take care of the rest.

That’s why corporations love working with me.

I make it easy.

FAQs about Caricatures as Corporate Event Entertainment FAQs

Q: Why are caricatures a good fit for corporate events?
A: Caricatures are the BEST fit for corporate events.
Let’s be honest—most corporate events are snoozefests. This is the opposite. As a corporate event entertainer, I literally DRAW A CROWD (pun absolutely intended) and turn your event into something people actually get excited about.

Q: How does hiring you as a live entertainer improve guest engagement at corporate events?
A: A live entertainer creates real interaction. Unlike other artists, I don’t just sit there—I talk to your guests, joke with them, and make them feel comfortable. Before they know it, they’re laughing and walking away with something unforgettable. That’s the power of interactive entertainment.

Q: What types of corporate events are caricatures best suited for?
A: Caricatures work for almost all corporate events
—trade shows, conferences, corporate parties, grand openings, product launches, retirement parties, employee appreciation events, holiday parties, welcome events, and more. If people are there, this works.

Q: Will a corporate event entertainer like a caricature artist create long lines?
A: No—my speed keeps things moving. I’m 2–3x faster than the average caricature artist and have even won awards for speed, which helps keep lines manageable at corporate events and large-scale corporate entertainment settings.

Q: Can caricatures be customized with company branding or logos?
A: Yes! Caricatures can be customized with your logo, hashtag, or message
. I can handle it for you, or you can provide the artwork. I just pass along the printing cost—no markup. It’s a great way to turn entertainment into branded corporate entertainment.

Q: What kind of space does a live caricature setup require at a corporate event?
A: Very little. Just 3 chairs and my easel.
No drying tables, no mess—perfect for corporate events where space, flow, and professionalism matter.

Q: Is a caricature artist appropriate for upscale or formal corporate events?
A: Absolutely. I’ve worked high-end corporate events, and my caricatures are flattering—not ugly.
The laughter and interaction make you look good while giving your guests a true bucket list experience. It’s polished, professional, and fun.

Q: What makes caricatures more memorable than other corporate event entertainment?
A: They’re interactive. Guests don’t just watch—they participate.
That’s what makes caricatures stand out from typical corporate entertainment and keeps people talking long after the event ends.

Q: Are caricatures appropriate for both employees and clients at corporate events?
A: Yes—and I’ve done tons of both.
Caricatures make great branded internal swag and even better gifts to impress your VIP clients. It’s one of the few corporate event entertainment options that works across the board.

Q: How do live caricatures compare to digital or tech-based event entertainment?
A: Both are still hand-drawn—just different tools.
Digital caricatures are especially great for large corporate events and visibility when displayed on screens, while traditional caricatures create a classic interactive entertainment experience.

Q: Can a caricature artist handle large corporate events without additional artists?
A: I can. My award winning speed and 27 years of experienc
e—including top-tier Las Vegas events—allow me to cover large corporate events on my own in many cases, saving you the cost and coordination of hiring multiple entertainers.

If you’re planning corporate events and want something that actually gets people engaged, laughing, and talking, hiring the right corporate event entertainer makes all the difference. Caricatures combine interactive entertainment, branded take-home value, and real guest engagement in a way most corporate entertainment simply can’t match.

If you’re in charge of planning the next corporate event, the easiest way to look good in front of your team—and your boss—is to choose the right corporate event entertainment.

Caricatures check every box.

They’re fun, interactive, and give guests something to actually do (not just watch), and everyone leaves with a personalized keepsake they’ll hang onto long after the event.

They work for just about any setting—trade shows, conferences, client appreciation events, holiday parties—you name it.

And because my style is flattering, your guests walk away smiling… which means you look good too.
