These two are in the military and they wanted to get married so they could be deployed together.
So they said their vows and waited a year and had a big blowout of a party on their anniversary date.
No one minded and it was exactly like a traditional wedding reception in every way.
Except of course, they had me drawing Caricatures as their wedding entertainment.
I see this quite a bit these days and if this is you please know that this is totally normal and we in the wedding industry see this all the time!
Second Chance at Happiness
....and a party no one will soon forget!
Jennifer and Scott had both been married before.
This time is going to be different. They're older. Wiser. And less likely to fight over the last donut.
Their wedding was a huge New Orleans style party. Of course it was. They live in Ponchatoula, LA which is just a hop skip an a jump from N'Awlins.
I had the time of my life at their wedding. and since I'm a wedding entertainer, that's saying something.
The one thing the bride, Jennifer, really wanted, was to make sure her mom, who had just been put on hospice, was able to make it to the wedding.
We also had predictions of bad weather and it was supposed to be an outdoor ceremony. I told her I'd pray for her.
Guess what? it didn't rain til much later in the evening AND most importantly, Her Mom was able to be there for her Big Day.
There were lots of tears that day. The good kind.

This bride's stepmother hired me as her wedding gift to the bride and groom.
She knew they were going to mention their favorite film that was their unofficial and unconventional wedding theme: Disney's Hercules.
When the SMOB (step mom of the bride) hired me,
she really wanted me to draw the couple as
Hercules and Meg.
So I did! It was challenging but FUN!
I managed to keep it a surprise until the reveal.
