I met Santa on vacation.
It happened at a Farmers Bureau event in Biloxi. A gentleman sat down for his caricature wearing a Hawaiian shirt and sporting the most magnificent long, white beard.
“You look like Santa on vacation,” I told him.
He laughed. “I actually am.”
Turns out he and his two brothers all play Santa at events every Christmas! They grow and maintain their beards year-round, which means kids recognize them everywhere they go. Some ask if they’re Santa. Others just start telling them what they want for Christmas!
So now I know what Santa does in the offseason.
He wears Hawaiian shirts, vacations on the Gulf Coast, and gets his caricature drawn.
