A Surprise at an outdoor wedding in Little Point Clear Venue

This outdoor wedding at Little Point Clear seemed like any other.
It was in a new venue for me so I was excited to work there. It was also close by to where I live in Fairhope, AL. I travel a lot for weddings, but it’s nice to be close to home.
I arrived early, met the wedding coordinator and set up outside under a fan. Then I met the bride's sister Morgan and their mother who had hired me and we agreed for me to start a little bit early since I was already set up and people were waiting for the bride & groom to finish getting their pictures done.
This is pretty typical. The timeline has to be flexible when you’re a wedding entertainer and I’m a flexible person, thankfully. It comes in handy in my job.
So I started drawing the guests, and of course they were having a great time and enjoying getting their caricatures drawn, interacting with me and then showing off their drawings to other friends and family afterwards.
The bride and groom soon made their grand entrance and the bride was so excited I cought her on camera jumping up and down which was super cute.
The bride and groom entered the venue, did the dances and then loved ones began doing speeches. Because of the layout of the venue and where I was located, I was able to continue to draw some caricatures while the speeches went on because we could see and hear from where we were located.
Eventually the speeches ended the Bride and Groom cut the cake did all the wedding things like throw the bouquet. I kept right on drawing guests throughout that whole time. Then it was time for the bride and groom to be drawn.
The bride was so bubbly and outgoing and friendly, and I had also seen that they had a mirror that said something about we love you and Jesus loves you too, so I brought up the fact that I am also a believer.
They were excited about that and we had a conversation about how God had brought them together (they met in youth group) and He had also given me my career of being a caricature artist after me seeking what I was supposed to do for a good number of years as a young person.
Then I revealed the caricature and I took video of it, which is my normal process. Here it is:
The Bride loved it and she hugged me and even the groom hugged me which is NOT My normal process but was super nice. Little tells like that are giveaways about people’s character. In this case, that little action signaled a good heart. I was very happy for them both.
After that I continued drawing until my time was up and I stayed a little bit late and did it for free which was just a courtesy - the Bride's sister and the Bride’s mother both wanted to get drawn, so I made sure they got their caricatures drawn and then I packed up and exited, giving the bride one last hug and blessing as I left.
I then went home and later I went through my pictures and started posting them on social media, which is what I normally do.
And then someone posted on one of the pictures and said “Oh my gosh it’s the people from YouTube” and I, being very naïve, responded. “Oh yes, I am on YouTube, but I don’t do those mean caricatures” because that’s what I thought she was referring to - all the mean caricatures on YouTube that are very popular right now for everyone to look at and laugh.
I am actually actively trying to combat them because I don’t draw caricatures that way - I think the world is ugly enough and I want to make it a beautiful place not an ugly place - and I think people prefer to get Pretty caricatures rather than ugly mean caricatures so that’s what I thought she was referring to.
A little bit later, that same person responded saying “no I meant the bride and groom - they're influencers - that’s Abby!”
Wait - what?!?
I knew the brides name was Abby.
And I realized. Oh my goodness! This is a famous YouTube couple! I went and looked them up and lo and behold. They have about 150,000 followers.
I think that there aren't even 150,000 people in the town I live in.
Boy did I feel dumb. I had no clue at all. But you know what? Even if I had known it wouldn’t have mattered. I’ve worked with plenty of celebrities before when I lived in Vegas and even movie stars people that I can’t even mention because of NDAs - nondisclosure agreements.
Anyway, so they have evidently had this really intimate wedding where they didn’t have a lot of people around they had photographers and such but they never told me not to take video or photos - they saw me whip it out - so I guess I’m free to show it and I’m hoping that they’ll get to see it and get their pictures because I have a bunch of pictures for them
So Abby and Ryan congratulations and if you guys want your pictures, I’ll be glad to give them to you.

And hey if you’re reading this and you’re interested in having me come draw caricatures at your next event you can email me and check your date’s availability.
I also got some behind-the-scenes pictures of this wedding, which I often do, and I always include those for the bride and groom so they have some pictures immediately.
It’s just like a fun kind of behind-the-scenes thing that I do that I give the bride and groom while I’m waiting to start drawing and not really doing anything yet.
I will update this if anything happens and I hear from them!
